Help with your film archive.
Answers for opening libraries, supported files, ratings, exports, and macOS folder permissions.
How do I open a film library?
Choose Open Film Library, select the folder that contains your scans, and confirm with Open Library. When Scan subfolders is enabled, each first-level subfolder becomes one film roll.
Which image formats are supported?
Frame Film Roll Archive supports JPEG, PNG, HEIC, HEIF, TIFF, and TIF files.
Where are ratings and film notes stored?
Ratings, favourites, and roll metadata are stored locally in the app's data on your Mac. They are not uploaded to a server.
Does the app change my original photos?
No. Browsing and rating do not modify the original image files. Export creates copies in the destination folder you select.
Why does a folder need permission again?
macOS may ask again if a folder was moved, renamed, stored on a disconnected drive, or its previous permission expired. Open the library again to restore access.
